Senior year is an important year!  You want to make sure your senior portraits go smoothly and tell YOUR story!  But finding the right photographer may feel like a chore, it doesn't have to be!

Here are five tips to guide you in selecting the senior portrait photographer that is right for you:

  1. Quality Matters: Look for photographers whose portfolio reflects high-quality images that resonate with your style and personality. Our studio prides itself on delivering stunning, high quality, personalized portrait products, that capture your unique essence.

  2. Experience Counts: Choose a photographer with experience in senior portraits.  With 7 years of experience, including yearly education to stay current with new technology, Mette McConnell Photography understands how to bring out your best features and create memorable images you'll cherish for a lifetime.

  3. Personal Connection: It's essential to feel comfortable and relaxed during your photo session. We believe in building a rapport with our clients to ensure a fun and enjoyable experience, resulting in natural and candid portraits. This is the number one reason Mette meets with the senior at least once ahead of the photo session.

  4. Creativity and Innovation: Seek photographers who bring creativity and innovation to their work. Our team constantly explores new techniques and ideas to make your senior portraits stand out and reflect your unique style.  Your portrait session should be as unique as you are!  No cookie cutter sessions allowed!

  5. Plan Ahead: Don't wait until the last minute to book your session. Senior year flies by quickly, and scheduling early ensures you get the dates that work best for you. Keep in mind upcoming deadlines for senior ads for sports programs and yearbook, those deadlines will hit hard and fast!

Take a little time to interview photographers.  Meet with them, look at their samples, hold and touch the products they provide,  ask them how they work their senior sessions.  Don't be afraid to ask questions!   Remember, you are hiring them!
